Cidni's Life Flight Fund
Donation protected
On April 21st, the unthinkable happened. My best friend's spunky and loving 12 year old daughter, Cidni, collapsed on the soccer field during a game. When her mom (Nikki) immediately responded, Cidni was unresponsive, not breathing, and without a pulse, Without hesitation, Nikki began CPR on her own daughter and received help from a fellow soccer-mom, Morgan. Ultimately, these efforts saved Cidni's life. Lifeless Cidni was quickly taken to the Lebanon Community Hospital and cared for until the life flight helicopter arrived to take her to Doernbecker Children's Hospital. Come to find out, Cidni went into cardiac arrest due to an abnormality (a "kink") in her coronary artery. After about a week in the hospital, Cidni underwent open heart surgery to correct this abnormality. She quickly recovered and was able to go back home to her family. Currently, Cidni is thriving although she has not been cleared to do any activity that may raise her heart rate. We expect her to resume her scooter riding, river exploring, and chicken herding activities in August.
Nikki and her family are so grateful for the wonderful care Cidni received at both hospitals, the ambulance and life flight helicopter- as well as the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. Luckily, their medical insurance is covering all of the cost of her stay at the hospitals. But unfortunately, not the life flight bill. They owe $38,000. This is a huge cost and this is putting their family in great financial distress.
We appreciate any support you are willing to give. Thank you for your kindness and consideration. Love to you all.
