Cicely’s Cuddle Cot

Myself, Cicely’s Daddy and a number of wonderful family and friends are going to be raising money for a charity called 4Louis. They are an incredible organisation who provide memory boxes and other items free of charge to hospitals across the UK for parents who suffer the trauma of miscarriage, stillbirth and infant loss.

On the 6th December 2024 our beautiful daughter, Cicely Quinn Coleman was born sleeping due to a rare genetic disorder. This experience is something you never think you will have to go through, but like so many parents we tragically did. Nearly 6 months on and the loss of Cicely is still extremely raw and has absolutely changed our lives forever, however we want to use our experience to help other families who have been put in such an unimaginable and painful position no parent should ever be in. Therefore, we hope to raise £1,200 which is enough money to purchase a ‘cuddle cot’ with 4Louis which in turn will be donated to a hospital in the UK. In our experience, this allowed us as her parents to spend time together as a family as well as allowing C’s Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles to have the opportunity to meet and spend quality time with her in the hospital. This time allowed us to make priceless memories altogether for as long as we wanted.

We first came across 4Louis in the hospital when we were given our own memory box. This contains special keepsakes and mementos unique to Cicely and it is truly our most prized possession. For example, her box contains clay hand and footprints of Cicely, as well as matching teddies (one with us and one with her), a children’s book which we read to her in hospital and at her funeral, plus so much more! This helps us so much in keeping the memory of our baby girl alive forever.

We already have a few fundraising events in the pipeline:

11th May 2025: myself, Ben, my cousin Manny and my Dad Andy (C’s Gramps) will be taking part in the Eastnor Castle Mud Run (6k), alongside some amazing people from Bloor Homes Western who have kindly chosen 4Louis to be their charity of the year.

21st September 2025: Ben and Cicely’s Auntie Em and Uncle Charlie will be taking part in the Cheltenham half marathon.

myself, Auntie Tia and Auntie Nai have all pledged to do a skydive (date TBC).

Cicely still has a story to tell and a legacy to uphold - fundraising for a cuddle cot is just one way we can do that all whilst helping bereaved parents like us spend precious time with their beautiful child.
