This is Ciarra Rose. Ten years ago she changed our lives with her adorable smile and bubbly personality.
But everything changed when she was three months old and our family was told she had to undergo her very first open heart surgery. Ciarra was born with a congenital heart defect, something that affects 1 out of every 100 babies.
Her first surgery went extremely well and doctors were able to repair her own valve. Fast forward 10 years later and we are in the same position once again. But this time, the doctors were unable to repair her own valve and on July 26, 2018, had to replace it with a mechanical valve.
Ciarra is on the road to recovery but it will be an extremely long process. Meanwhile, our parents would never ask for any handouts so Ciarra's big sisters will take on the task. As you can only image, one open heart surgery took a toll on our family financially and now as we go through a second one we are asking for any and all help.
Whatever you can donate would be more than appreciated and will go to helping our parents worry less about money and more about getting Ciarra back on her feet and getting her home.
