Cian's Journey to Space University
Donation protected
Hi there!
My name is Cian O'Regan, I am 21 years old, and this summer I will be heading to the Netherlands for nine weeks to study at the International Space University's Space Studies Program 2018 (SSP18) from 25 June – 24 August 2018.
From a very young age I developed a keen interest in space exploration and astronomy. I am a third year Business Information Systems student at University College Cork and work part-time at Blackrock Castle Observatory. When I finish college, I want to work in the space industry in any way possible.
Attending SSP18 will be the perfect launchpad for me to do just that!
SSP is a nine-week long, multidisciplinary, graduate-level professional development program with a highly multinational community of students, alumni and staff. I will find myself surrounded by experts consisting of astronauts, academics, entrepreneurs and physicians who are amongst the top in their global respected fields.
This is a prestigious and highly sought-after opportunity to network with the best and the brightest of the global space industry.
It truly is the opportunity of a lifetime, and unlike any other adventure I've ever planned before!
With that said, the cost of attending SSP is expensive. The total cost of attending the Space Studies Program is €18,500, so I'll need your generous support to make it happen.
Right now, I'm seeking €4,000 to start off my campaign.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated.
Anyone that donates €25 or more will receive a hand-written thank-you letter from myself and a mounted photographic print of their choice - like this shot I took of the International Space Station - from my website.
Those kind enough to donate €50 will receive a letter, a mounted photographic print as well as a random item from my personal space memorabilia collection.
Anyone who's crazy enough to donate €100 or more will receive all of the items mentioned above and a big hug from myself!
All donations will be used for the cost of living and tuition at the International Space University.
Thank you in advance for your generous contributions. I look forward to sharing details of my space adventure with you!
