Hi Everyone!! Thank you so much for taking the time to come to the page and showing your support for Chy!! We are thrilled you have taken the time to DONATE, SHARE, or PRAY!! The time has come for Cheyenne to get her service puppy and let me tell you she is absolutely thrilled! Our family traveled last wednesday to finally select her puppy.
As many of you know, Chy has been through quite alot in her six years of life. Starting at the age of 2 she began having her seizures, which started as Febrile seizures (induced by a fever). We then thought because only 3-5% of children have one and only 3-5% of those children have a second that we would be out of the woods. Unfortunately, that was not the case she had several. While all these were going on she started falling unexpectedly, pausing in the middle of her sentences, spiking fevers if she would go out in the heat because her body cannot control its temperture. She was in and out of the hospitals for the next 3 years after that. Many doctors later we got her first diagnosis, Epilepsy. Shortly after they told us they would classify her as also having high fever syndrome. Although not a typical case, she cannot go out if it is too hot or too cold. Her body cannot cool it on its own and would result in a fever for the next 24 hours or longer, possibly ending in another seizure. She has spent many days at the windows begging to go out with the other kids because she loves being an active child outside in the sun. Football, baseball, basketball, any sport you name she adores. Eventually, we went to a doctor who noticed she was having quite a bit of bruising (her pcp had always attributed this to her being so active). 8 months of blood test later, we were told the platelets in her blood do not function properly, another diagnosis, Platelet Dysfunction. As if this isnt enough for a child she has an extra vertebra in her spine, a short spinal cord and has limited feeling of needing to use the restroom. She is on several medications, which cause night terrors and anxiety attacks. We desperately need everyone of our friends and family to all come together and support this amazing little girl who dispite her trials has never lost her spirit. Weather it be to a small donation, sharing her story or sending a prayer we are extremely grateful!! However, I must urge everyone please, PLEASE DONATE to Cheyenne, help her dreams come true of living a normal life! Be the reason this child can smile, help her get through her struggles by being a big part of this next milestone!
We are picking Mirabella up with your help on October 2nd she will be 8 weeks and immediately start her training as Cheyenne's Service Dog! :)
