Chylothorax, a devastating condition has affected our hounds for a long time and was first recognized as a chronic, debilitating disease around 2005. Since that time it has increased at an alarming rate and, especially in Afghan Hounds. The researchers need blood samples from affected hounds. In many cases it is difficult for the owners to pay for these expensive blood tests. The Afghan Hound Club of America is raising funds to defray the costs of these expensive tests so that research into an effective cure can move forward.
