On the evening of March 10, Kelly Ann Doherty was violently car jacked by two men with guns in Berkeley, California. The robbers acted in a coordinated plan and blocked and trapped Kelly, on a dead end road like some sort of action movie nightmare come to life. Kelly thought on her feet and ran and hid in nearby bushes, hoping for the best, but, flooded with thoughts of the worst. Kelly's car was stolen and she was very lucky to escape with only minor bodily injury to her arm, elbow and foot.

While her physical injuries are healing, the mental and emotional toll has been significant and she needs our help. Having lost her job last year, Kelly has been making ends meet doing side hustles and any work she can find until something more permanent comes through. So, she depends heavily on her vehicle for her income currently and the timing could not be worse.

The trauma of the robbery has left Kelly suffering from chronic PTSD that has greatly affected her day to day, making even simple tasks difficult. She experiences constant and intense fear and is unable to sleep or work.

While Kelly is receiving treatment for these issues and has applied for support through the state and local resources for victims of violent crimes, these programs take time. It will be at least 90 days before any of the benefits of these organizations reach her.
