Emergency Appeal
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
My name is Hamza Sultan, I am part of the
Somali Youth that live in the England (North London). I am writing you this Message to raise funds to offer relief to our Somali People hard hit by famine that is now going on in many parts of Somalia.
As many of you are aware Somalia has been in the news and media for a long time. Sadly, it has always being linked with war, self-harming and destruction, yet that is not our reality.
Many people are dying of starvation and malnutrition this includes mothers, children, elders and many more. A report by the UN states that “The world faces the largest humanitarian crisis since the United Nations was founded in 1945”. Food shortage and skyrocketing of prices of little food that is left has forced many people to leave their homes due to the desperate situation there.
The effects of this are that many farmers lose crops and pastures for live stock are depleting fast. Food prices go up & livestock are dying.
The money we raise together will be used for the following: buying and transporting water and food such as corn, grain and rice from the towns to the affected areas and building temporary shelters.
We need to raise the money in ASAP because they are running out of time.
The funds will be sent directly to families in need via wire transfer though Dahabshill Finacial. The money will be sent to my cousin Mustafa Jambir in Somalia. Mustafa will be giving half of the total donation to CARE Internationl Somalia and half to Danish Refugee Council Somalia.
Mustafa will be sending photos of the work being done and there progress. We will make sure that every penny that we collect goes straight to the victim(s).
Any little help is needed. Never be ashamed of how little you can help. The smallest intention you make to help the Somali people can be so rewarding In Shaa Allah. By raising money, we will be able to contribute to the global efforts in saving lives.
