Church Support in Memory of Sarah Trowbridge
Donation protected
In the weeks before her death, Sarah expressed her desire that those considering making donations in her memory might do so to her church in Honduras.
"They changed my life," Sarah said consistently about her brothers and sisters at the Iglesia Viviendo en Amor y Fe ("Church of Living in Love and Faith").
While living in Honduras, Sarah served for two years on the church's leadership board. She co-lead the church's ministry with neighborhood youth and was active in its women's ministry. Sarah moved to the church's neighborhood for her last year and a half in Honduras to be better connected to its work.
Iglesia Viviendo en Amor y Fe (IVAF) is located in one of the most challenging neighborhoods in the Honduran capital city of Tegucigalpa. It was founded more than 25 years ago.
Sarah was drawn to IVAF for its members' dedication to serving the local community by bravely and creatively addressing violence and poverty while also examining how scripture compels us to seek justice and address the root causes for these issues.
The church's ministries work alongside women, families, and youth from the neighborhood to interrupt cycles of violence and poverty, including through conflict resolution and helping youth complete their education.
(Evan is managing the GoFundMe and will handle the transfer of the money to the church, following the same process in which he and Sarah give their tithes to the church.)
