As many of you know, Brian Church, is a type 1 diabetic (juvenile diabetes) who was diagnosed at the early age of 6. It is no secret or surprise that Brian has spent most of his life struggling and coping with this autoimmune disease that has been slowly taking precious years off of his life.

Fast forward to today, May 2019.....Brian is fighting stage 5 renal failure. His kidneys have stopped working and the toxins and fluids continue to build up and to make matters worse, dialysis isn’t beginning the way they had hoped. Liz, Jordan, and Molly have lost precious years already and they fear they may not have much time left.

Brian has chosen to have Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) which requires having a catheter implanted into his stomach, a 2-6 week healing period. It is approximately 2 weeks post the implementation of the catheter. Due to the great need to start dialysis, Brian may to have a Hemodialysis port placed to be able to start dialysis immediately.
