We found Chupi outside of my grandmother’s house in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. We think he escaped during NYE fireworks and got hit by a car- he is clearly in a lot of pain. Chupi is a sweet, gentle boy who seems like he used to be a house dog. He likes car rides and wags his tail when you get close to pet him. I wish I could bring him with me but unfortunately I can’t and my grandmother is unable to care for him. We took him to the vet and got full x-rays, blood panels and found that he has a severely broken femur. He will need to get an implant in order to hold his bone together. The surgery is estimated to be around $5,000 and we have already paid $500 for vet visits and food. We are trying to help him get adopted but he will need surgery first.
