Hello all. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Willie Wong, whose wife Chun is battling Stage 4 cancer.

Chun was diagnosed a couple of years ago with Non Hodgkins and Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is a type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system, which is part of the body's immune system.

During that time, she saw countless doctors for treatment and she is now seeking treatment at City of Hope. As you know, chemotherapy is an aggressive treatment and often leaves her drained and nauseous. In addition, the cancer keeps migrating to other areas of her body and now she is at Stage 4.

During the past few years, with their families help, they did their best financially to pay all the medical expenses as well as expenses related to her illness like household bills, supplements, and childcare expenses...all which are very expensive. All their savings have been exhausted and their credit cards are maxed out.

They continue to accrue mounting debt and have come to the point where they have no other choice but to appeal to you for assistance. They are tired and just out of options right now.

Chun has not been able to work due to surgery, in hospital stays, ongoing treatments and tests. She is often exhausted and drained during this illness and subsequent treatments. They are both scared because they are on the brink of financial disaster and have spent many sleepless nights worrying about financial obligations such as rent, car payments, utilities and mounting medical bills as well as the financial welfare of their children. Their dreams and goals for the future are uncertain. Even during all this, Willie continues to volunteer tirelessly for our Asian communities with night patrols in protecting the vulnerable Asian communities in the LA area from threats of theft, hate crimes and vandalism. Our Asian communities benefit greatly from Willie's activism.
