I can’t even believe I’m typing these words, but my dad was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He went to the ER a few weeks ago for ongoing stomach pain. After a CAT scan they diagnosed him with cancer in the pancreas and liver. Then a couple of days later he had an appointment with his regular doctor who gave a little bit of hope and said there could be other explanations for the masses on those organs. But he also did blood work and the next day let us down again saying the pancreatic enzymes were really high which unfortunately gave a high likelihood of cancer. Then the next day he had an endoscopy and the gastroenterologist said he wasn’t convinced it was cancer. Then the following week he had a biopsy of his liver and after a long week of waiting they sadly confirmed cancer. As of right now we have limited info until he has his first oncology appt on October 16th. The gastroenterologist did say that the pancreas is operable. And with that info, we would really love to get him into an appt with the top oncologist for pancreatic cancer in his state for a second opinion. Unfortunately his insurance doesn’t cover that doctor. With cancer treatment and surgery in the near future, as well as paying out of pocket for a second opinion, I want to try and help my dad get a head start with funds for medical bills. Any donation can help, no matter how small. And if all you can do is share, that helps as well! And we obviously will take all the thoughts, prayers, good vibes for our family and especially for my dad. Thank you so much .
