On March 17th, our dad, Chuck, had a stroke at home. We’re incredibly grateful our mom, Jan, was there and able to get him help right away.
After initial care in Spearfish and Rapid City, he’s now in Denver at Craig Hospital, where he’s started an intensive neuro rehab program. He’s already working hard and still cracking jokes along the way.
Recovery will take time, but if there’s one thing we know about our dad, it’s that he’s stubborn in the best way and not one to sit still for long. He and our mom are focused on taking things day by day and making steady progress.
For anyone who knows him, that probably doesn't surprise you. He spent over 20 years in the Air Force, and he's always been the guy who shows up whether that's fixing a computer, figuring out how to buy the right paint, or keeping up with his kettlebell workouts. He's also a proud grandpa to 6 (soon to be 7) and takes that role very seriously.
We’re raising funds to help with:
- Everyday expenses
- Travel costs to bring him home
- Medical-related costs not covered by insurance
- The impact of being away from work during this time.
If you’re able to contribute, we’re incredibly grateful. If not, sharing this page means just as much to us.
Thank you for all the support, messages, and laughs you’ve already shared…it’s helping more than you know.
With love,
Tiana, Trista, Tori, & Charlie <3
