My amazing Dad, Chuck Kaiawe, is currently 44 years old, married and has 2 daughters, Me (Carly) & Kaylee. He was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia about 12 years ago. For those of you that may know him knows that he's an extraordinary man. He always tries to be positive, always trying to make people laugh, has the strongest mind and always lending a hand if you need it. He has gone through countless doctor visits, Chemotherapy and 2 different types of Cancer Pills. He started Chemo treatments when he first got diagnosed but at some point, Chemotherapy stopped working. He next was put on a cancer pill that helped him battle the cancer for awhile. But now, it has stopped working. So today, May, 22nd 2019, makes the 5th day that he's been put on the New cancer pill. He's fighting hard. And I know he will fight his hardest till the very end. This is his hardest battle he has faced thus far. Because of this new treatment, he has been unable to work. Medical expenses are unfortunately not fully covered. I know my Dad hardly ever asks for help. But this is me, His daughter, trying to help HIM for once. He would always bend over backwards whenever I needed help. I feel I need to return the favor somehow. Seeing him in these circumstances is really not easy. He has always been there for love and support not just for me and my sister, but also for all his family and friends. Now, it's time that we give our love and support to him. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround him with love will be the most important so he can focus and overcome this obstacle. Please spread the word. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. UPDATE as of May 23rd, 2019, Heaven gained another Angel. Rest peacefully Dad! You were loved by so many! You were such an amazing Husband, Father, God Father, Brother, Son, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. I can't thank God enough for blessing Kaylee & I with the award winning GREATEST DAD. I can't tell you all enough that this all has to be the hardest situation I ever had to go through. Hearing, "Code Blue." Is the last thing you want to hear. & for those that may not know what that means; It means that his heart stopped. Doctors and nurses tried their absolute best to bring him back to us. At some point, they did get a heart beat but 10 minutes later, we lost him again. Talk about an Emotional rollercoaster! I was there to help make the final decision. Whether to let him go or put him on Life Support. & one thing that Dad always told me was to not let a machine live for him. There was 6 words I spoke that day that will FOREVER be the HARDEST WORDS I will ever speak. "We have to let him go." As hard as it all was, I am at peace to know that you're not suffering any longer! We all miss and love you so much! Gone, but NEVER FORGOTTEN! Funds will now be used for Medical expenses and Funeral expenses. And again, THANK YOU ALL!
