We all know the type... a person that is always giving. That is the perfect description of Chuck Chenault.
Unfortunately, in August, after being in a hospital with a diagnostic of Colitis, he returned home and large lesions erupted on his tongue. After several doctors' visits, he was diagnosed with stage II oral cancer. His treatment will include a PET scan (after a CT scan showed spots on his throat and lungs), a 10-12 hour surgery to remove part of his tongue and re-construct it, as well as a cut from left ear to right ear to remove cancerous lymph nodes with a hospital stay of 5-7 days, and finally, speech therapy. In addition, he will be undergoing seven weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.
Sadly, Chuck has no health insurance. He worries for his wife and family, and how he will be able to afford all the accumulating medical expenses.
The cancer is rapidly spreading and the hospital requires payment in advance to start the PET scan, surgery, treatment, and therapy. So, funds are needed immediately so that Chuck can get started with the treatment plan.
