In Loving Memory of Chuck Rayburn

Hello, my name is Abigail and I am setting up this fundraiser for my recently departed uncle.

Charles (Chuck) Baron Rayburn

October 8th, 1963 – February 12th, 2024

Charles (Chuck) Baron Rayburn was born on October 8th, 1963 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Pamelia Hicks Rayburn of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Charles Herbert Rayburn of Birmingham, Alabama. After a brief relocation to New Orleans, Louisiana the family found their way back to Tennessee and settled down in Hixson.

Growing up, Chuck attended St. Lutheran Preschool, Alpine Crest, Red Bank Junior High, and Baylor. Chuck took great pride in his Baylor roots and often told stories of his time attending the private school. He attended college at the University of Chattanooga where he earned a degree in Business and pledged with the ATO fraternity.

Most of Chuck’s fondest memories were on the ballfield, whether it was playing football or baseball. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman. When not participating in sports himself, he could be found cheering for Braves baseball and Alabama football.

Chuck passed away on February 12th, 2024 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee after a decades long struggle with his health.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pamelia and Charles Rayburn of Chattanooga; his younger brother, Michael (Mike) Rayburn of Chattanooga; and his grandparents, Betty and Dean Hicks of Chattanooga as well as Earlene and Robert Rayburn of Birmingham.

Chuck is survived by his younger sister, Dina Rayburn of Chattanooga; his niece Abigail Little and nephew Charles Long of Chattanooga; as well as his closest friend Jeff Price of Red Bank and his family.

Adhering to his wishes, there will be no visitation, nor funeral service for Chuck. He asked that he simply be cremated, and his ashes scattered in an undisclosed location.
