Chuck Miller Memorial Needs

Dear Friends of Chuck & Cathy Miller
Chuck went home to be with his best friend, Jesus on Saturday, January 21st. Some of you have inquired about how Cathy and the family are doing and the following:
1. How can you help financially?
2. What are the thoughts on Barnabas?
3. What are the details for the Memorial?
It is hard to believe that is was less than two weeks ago that we were emailing out to say that Chuck Miller was very sick, battling a new cancer and Parkinson’s disease. By now you know that Chuck declined very fast before going to be with his dear friend Jesus on Saturday, January 21st. In those last days he and Cathy were incredibly nurtured by the hundreds of emails, notes, stories and visits they received from his decades of loving people to Jesus. Chuck described your words as a tremendous encouragement that allowed them to see “the embarrassing blessing of God’s work through us.” Amazingly, Chuck was able to mentor and encourage others all the way to the end of his life. Scott, Dean & Christy all were there to care for and be with Chuck in final days.
1. Over the past week some have asked if they might help with funeral expenses and other needs which have arisen.
If you would like to give directly to Cathy to help defray funeral and other expenses you can do so with a personal gift by either making a donaton on this link or by sending a check in her name (Cathy Miller) to Barnabas, Inc. P.O. Box 1358, Lake Forest, CA 92609
Cathy: We were expecting a few more years of Chuck being vital when the new cancer appeared; it severely depleted his fighting ability against the cancer and Parkinson’s Disease and the end came quickly. The grief has been brief with all the unexpected crises. The additional “out of pocket medical” and both of our cars becoming undriveable or repairable also sapped more energies. Ultimately there are levels of grief that we still anticipate.
2. Much of Chuck’s energy the last six months was given to strategic planning of how to pass on what God has given him to future generations, and he was in the midst of implementing this planning when he passed. The board of Barnabas and Cathy are committed to that desire coming to fruition. Their desire is to see God’s kingdom continue to spread through Chuck and Cathy’s unique tools and ministry materials. These continue to be very distinct in their ability to train and develop disciples for Christ.
If you would like to give to the ongoing mission of Barnabas you can do so by sending a check to the Barnabas P.O. Box, P.O. 1358, Lake Forest, CA, 92609,
Chuck is also owed some back salary and reimbursements which we hope to pay to Cathy with the first of any monies received.
Note: Gifts to Cathy are not tax-deductible while gifts to Barnabas are.
3. The Memorial Celebration of Chuck’s life is set for Friday, February 17th, at 1:30 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Master in Mission Viejo, California. This service is open to all our friends and intended to be a celebration for the years of Chuck and Cathy’s ministry lives, and especially their Savior and Lord. (This church is at the corner of Marguerite Parkway and Oso Parkway in Mission Viejo. Exit the I-5 at Oso Parkway and go east about one mile toward the Saddleback Mountains).
We continue both to grieve and rejoice over the life of our brother, and are so grateful for each of you. Please don’t hesitate to mail or email us with any questions, stories or ways you can help or participate. Chuck’s email address is [email redacted].
