On Sunday August 3, we lost a very beloved member of our family, Charles (Chuck) Marsh. He was very dear to our family and in our lives for over 50 years. His illness was very progressive and his unexpected death was a shock to the whole family. Chuck was a wonderful husband and father to two boys, worked full time all his life in Calgary as a Controller for Precision Drilling, for the past 30 years before retirement. He was a very integral part of our family, always there when anyone needed him. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of everything sports related and was the “Rainman” of the sports world. Video games were another passion for him and playing with Lorna, and his sons nurtured a common interest within their family. To his dying day, he still loved to play his video golf!!
50+ years of being together, 49 years of marriage, Chuck was on his death bed and STILL remembered their 49th Wedding Anniversary on July 24, looking at Lorna saying Happy Anniversary honey. Always keeping positive.
His smile and his laugh were infectious, and he was always a happy guy no matter what, making everybody around him smile. They decided to move to Saskatchewan for the past 10 years, leaving their family here in Calgary, which wasn’t the choice they wanted, but tough times forced their decision to move. They recently moved back to Calgary because of his illness and to get the proper care he needed, but he never got to enjoy his home town the way he used to because his illness took him too fast.
We are all devastated that he has left us, and Lorna is heartbroken and worried about her future. Funeral expenses are an unexpected cost they weren’t prepared for.
We very humbly ask for contributions to help cover the costs of putting him to rest peacefully. This is not an easy time for the family right now, and Lorna is finding it especially difficult. If you can help in anyway, we would be eternally grateful for any contributions.
We are doing this for her, because we all know the burdens that she’s facing alone right now.
Thank you so much for your consideration.
