Hi everyone - On Sunday, March 12, my stepdad, Chuck, went to urgent care after several weeks of feeling ill, especially in the days leading up to Sunday. After a CT scan, they discovered a cancerous mass the size of a thumb near his nasal cavity. Our family was prepared for the journey ahead and had a few appointments scheduled in the upcoming week with the surgeons and cancer specialists. On Tuesday morning around 4 am, Chuck suddenly was unable to breathe and lost consciousness at home. The paramedics came quickly and were able to resuscitate him and restore a pulse, however, he went code blue twice more on the way to the hospital. By 7 am, the doctors had determined that he had lost all brain activity due to the lack of oxygen. He tragically passed away around 4 pm that afternoon at the age of 64.

Chuck was loving, good-natured, funny and generous beyond compare. As you can imagine, my mom, myself, and Chuck's mom (93 years old) have been rocked to the core by this sudden and tragic loss. As devastated as we are, we trust in God's plan and timing for our family's future.

I was torn about putting this together, mostly out of pride - but ultimately, I'm doing this to support my mom during this time (she doesn't know about this). The funds will be used to help cover memorial and funeral expenses, along with helping my mom get back on her feet in the weeks and months ahead.
