Good Day, my name is William Robert Hagen. My twin brother, Chuck, passed away on May 7, 2017. As many of you know, who knew Chuck, due to his HIV+ status, he was unable to work or obtain affordable life insurance. He received disbaility benefits in order to receive vital medical benefits, which kept him alive for over 20 years. Two days after Christmas, of 2016, Chuck fell ill. It took the doctors several months to diagnose the exact cause of his illness. As it turned out, he had esophegeal cancer, unrelated to his HIV status, which had quickly spread to all parts of his body. He fought against the cancer with great tenacity, but ultimately wasn't strong enough to beat it, because his body was so weakened by his two decade long battle with AIDS. My sister, Lori, and I are asking for your help in meeting the cost of his final expenses. We economized the best that we could, to allow Chuck a dignified ceremony, in order to celebrate his life. However, the funeral director is unable to move forward, with the plans, until all expenses, which total $4,500, are met. If there was another way, to raise the money necessary, we wouldn't be asking for your support now. In addition to his physical battles, he battled many demons, in his life, from mental illness to substance abuse. It is our wish that we be able to say farewell, to Chuck, in a manner that allows him some dignity in death. Any amount, that people could spare, would be greatly appreciated. Many tiny drops of rain cause mighty rivers to flow. Thank you for your time and consideration.
