Chuck and Sharon's miracle

Donation protected

Sharon called me this morning to let me know Chuck went home to be with the Lord last night at 10:57.  Read their story below and please read the updates. Now Sharon can use all the help anyone feels led to give. Please pass it on.

Chuck and Sharon are in need of a miracle or two. Won’t you be part of that miracle by donating to this Go Fund Me campaign?

During the Christmas season Chuck caught a virus that had been going around. The virus lingered, and he struggled with recovery. Over the  next couple months he began losing weight, and getting weaker and weaker, and experiencing considerable pain. Believing this all to be due to Acid Reflux he adjusted his diet.

Finally, Sharon convinced him to see a doctor. After tests and consults it was discovered Chuck had a mass on his kidney. After more tests and waiting on insurance approval, he was scheduled for surgery to remove the kidney.
The first attempted surgery was halted because the mass was larger than anticipated and looked like it was pressing on the Vena Cava. The doctor didn’t want to proceed without consultation with other specialists.

Chuck remained in the hospital while all the specialists gathered, as well as the leading anesthesiologist in the U.S. The second surgery was a success with only a slight nick to the Vena Cava, which was repaired. Tests did show cancer.
After weeks in the hospital there were more weeks in a rehabilitation center. Chuck worked hard with physical and occupational therapists to recover and be able to return home.

At home Chuck tried to resume normal activity while Sharon tried to keep them afloat. They already live on a meager income. Chuck was forced to quit the construction work he loved so much due to a back injury which forced an early retirement.
One of the things Sharon does is pick up and deliver food donated by grocery stores to food banks, providing food for those in need. Now she finds herself unable to buy their groceries. There isn’t money for anything. In addition to groceries, there is money needed for utilities, property taxes and the medical bills are beginning to come in.

Sharon’s text to me said, “Chuck has been back in the hospital since Monday. They will do a stress test on his heart tomorrow. He has swelling. Cancer has spread a little to the lung and liver, and they discovered he has congestive heart failure.
Please pray for us… Pray for finances as we need a miracle.”

Sharon is a rock. She’s determined to look at the positives and pray for that miracle.
We are starting this campaign with a goal of $20,000 to cover those bills immediately due and give them some cash for expenses and things that that will not be covered by insurance.  As more bills come in and donations are received we’ll adjust the amount as needed.

Please consider how you can help and forward this to everyone you can think of. Let’s get the word out and help this wonderful couple
Help spread the word! Chuck and Sharon are in need of a miracle or two.

If you are not already acquainted, may I introduce you to Chuck and Sharon Cochran. Chuck and Sharon are parents and grandparents--their great joy. They are also active in giving and caring for their community and beyond. As it’s said, “Life Happens, but sometimes what happens knocks you down and you need a helping hand yourself"
