What's happening?
On Tuesday, August 4th, an explosion caused destruction across half the city of Beirut, and the surrounding suburbs. Unfortunately, at least 150 people (and counting) were killed and 5000 wounded, and has left 300,000 homes destructed and destroyed. This tragedy comes at the heels of a pandemic and national economic crisis, resulting in a humanitarian emergency for the country.

Who we are?
Donna Farhat and Jennifer El-Haddad are young Lebanese-Americans, living in Charleston, SC, who banned together with two friends, Rachel Bassett and Suzy Reece. We started “Charleston for Beirut” with the  to help raise relief funds for the Lebanese Red Cross and Live Love Beirut, a Lebanese non-profit working to rebuild homes in Beirut.

Our Mission:
Our mission is provide relief and aid to Beirut and the Lebanese people during this time of crisis. The specific fundraiser is going to the Lebanese Red Cross, but we plan to continue to raise relief funds for other creditable NGO’s in Lebanon that prioritize helping Lebanese people in need. This is only the beginning of our efforts to give back to Lebanon.
