CHS Bands 2021 Spring Play-a-thon

Welcome to the 2021 Spring Cleveland Bands Play-a-thon! Our annual fundraiser to support the bands. We will be streaming performances on Friday, May 21st at 6pm to raise money for the band program. Visit our website to find the link on Friday!
Although this was not the ideal year, the band persevered and accomplished quite a bit:
* Cleveland HS was honored by the National Federation of High Schools as the Performing Arts School of Excellence for 2020!
* CHS Band students qualified for state in the Virtual Solo and Ensemble Contest for District 1, WIBC Honor Band and 2021 OMEA All-State Ensembles!
* Virtual Concerts for Winter and Spring!
We still had expenses to cover and we still get no direct funds from the school district to support the band program.
Here are a few items your donation will help support:
* Purchasing Sheet Music: it costs $100 for one set of sheet music for a single title, $350 for a set of advanced music
* Covering student entrance fees for competitions
* Pep Band T-Shirts and Hats for incoming freshman
* Masks for all band members
* New uniforms for the marching band
* Drumline equipment
* Specialist teacher support
The typical band fee for a high school band is $100 or more. CHS Band Director Mr. Gary Riler and our parent booster group, Friends of Cleveland Bands, feel strongly that we should not charge a mandatory fee to participate in band. Instead we ask our community to support the program. We do not want to limit any students ability to participate!
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CLEVELAND BAND PROGRAM?
1. Donate an amount meaningful to you. Remember that CHS Bands receive no direct funding from PPS, so you are supporting the basic needs of running a high school band. Any amount helps! We also accept employer match through Benevity, search for Friends of Cleveland Bands. We also accept employer match manually, have your employer send their match to the address below. Our EIN is 842037819.
2. If you are supporting a particular student PLEASE BE SURE TO PUT THE NAME OF THE STUDENT YOU SUPPORT IN THE COMMENT BOX! There are prizes that go to the student for the most money raised, largest number of gifts, and for participating. This also gets the students engaged and participating in their own fundraising success.
3. JOIN US! We will be streaming performances that the students have put together on May 21st. Come back to this page or go to our website to get the link to the stream.
