My daughter Chrystal (Rys) has been struggling to stay afloat and stay alive in a drastically financial and medical nightmare stemming from a major black mold issue, which started with a water leak in the condo she solely owns.
Back in April 2019, she noticed and notified her HOA of the evidence of a water leak on her bathroom floor. After months of trying to engage the HOA to fix the issue and stop the leak, they have neglected to resolve the whole problem in a reasonable timeframe nor kept lines of communication going. She then retained legal counsel. Therefore, the problem continued to damage both her condo and her health due to black mold toxicity. The black mold caused newly developed allergies, shutting down her system and her ability to walk, or speak coherently, triggering light and auditory sensitivity, nerve pain, seizures, migraines, weight loss.... the list of symptoms continues.
She has contacted her mortgage, car loan and credit card companies to explain her situation. This is to try to lessen the long-term impact on her credit and ability to rebuild her life once the lawsuit is resolved and she is able to look for a new place to live and rebuild her life after this trauma.
The black mold toxicity has impacted her to the extent that she has gone from being 100% independently sustainable to losing her two jobs and all sources of income. From lifting weights 4 days a week and living an active healthy lifestyle with her two dogs, to being unable to walk and pulling herself up the stairs.
She has not lost her will to live or to rebuild her life, but these debts have been a result of struggling to stay alive in the midst of a legal and medical battle with no clear date of finalization.
Unfortunately, while awaiting a resolution of the lawsuit against the HOA, she has had to cover all expenses out-of-pocket (food, medical, non-mold-infested clothing, and a roof over her head). This increased debt has maxed out her assets and credit card balances. Meanwhile, she's still had to cover a mortgage and HOA dues on a property that she has not been able to live in since August 1, 2019. She has been forced to couch surf with friends because an extended stay hotel quickly drained all savings she had.
Please help my daughter get back on her feet, literally and financially. She urgently needs funding to cover necessary medical care with a specialist at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, in addition to basic living expenses.
