I want to say thank you to all of you out there for your support and understanding to Diego.

Diego Barros was diagnosed with PEMPHIGUS VULGARIS, a life-threating auto-immune disorder of the skin, that only a small percentage of the population has it. Diego has it.

He’s a single parent with 5 children. The wounds and sores caused by the disease can be lethal due to being extremely large sores and opened ones. His immune system will not allow to heal properly; infections can easily enter his body and kill him. He also has diagnoses of Pulmonary (lung) fibrosis, TB (caused by Silica Dust), hyperlipidemia, cerebrovascular disease, about 3 mini strokes of the brain (transient ischemic attacks) and COPD. He lives in the state of Washington, is homeless and lost his job due to medical condition.

He was a self-contractor installing floors and carpets for over 20 years. His business grew, financially doing good and the exposure to chemicals, dust, molds, asbestos, pests, etc caused the Pemphigus to emerge and closed his business as he is not healthy.

Currently, Diego is living in his van, has lost all his equipment for his job, is getting food stamps and some cash assistance from the state. He was also denied by Social Security to get the disability benefit.

He’s trying to collect enough funds to make the van payments so he can keep it, have a place to sleep, live and transportation for his medical appointments and to see his children.

He can’t be in shelters, dusty places, areas with mold and not even in ER. These places a very prompt for him to get infected. When bleach is used, he’ll be very sick. Diego is frequently in hospitals and clinics due to the PEMPHIGUS and Lung Fibrosis.

On behalf of Diego, he wishes to give himself the time of his life. He doesn’t only want to keep his van and live there but he wants to feel healthy and see his 5 children grow up. He is only 45 and his children are from the age of 13-23 years old.

He’s very loved by his family – parents, siblings and friends. He’s a very good friend, most of all, a very good human being. He is simple, humble and open to help without anything in return. He would give you, his heart. His medical situation shouldn’t be faced by anyone, no matter the age.

We want Diego to have the chance to make the most of his precious time.

Hola a todos, quiero agradecerles a todos ustedes por su apoyo y comprensión hacia Diego. Diego Barros fue diagnosticado con PEMFIGO VULGARIS, un trastorno autoinmune de la piel que amenaza la vida, del cual solo un pequeño porcentaje de la población lo padece. Diego lo tiene. Es un padre soltero con 5 hijos. Las heridas y llagas causadas por la enfermedad pueden ser letales debido a que son úlceras extremadamente grandes y abiertas. Su sistema inmunológico no permite que sane adecuadamente; las infecciones pueden entrar fácilmente en su cuerpo y matarlo. También tiene diagnósticos de fibrosis pulmonar, tuberculosis, hiperlipidemia, enfermedad cerebrovascular, aproximadamente 3 mini accidentes cerebrovasculares (ataques isquémicos transitorios) y EPOC. Vive en el estado de Washington, está sin hogar y perdió su trabajo debido a su condición médica. Fue un contratista autónomo instalando pisos y alfombras durante más de 20 años. Su negocio creció, financieramente iba bien y la exposición a productos químicos, polvo, moho, asbesto, plagas, etc. causó el Pemfigo emergió y cerró su negocio ya que no está sano. Actualmente, Diego vive en su furgoneta, ha perdido todo su equipo para trabajar, está recibiendo cupones de alimentos y algo de asistencia en efectivo del estado. También fue rechazado por la Seguridad Social para obtener el beneficio por discapacidad. Está tratando de reunir suficientes fondos para hacer los pagos de la furgoneta para poder conservarla, tener un lugar donde dormir, vivir y transporte para sus citas médicas y ver a sus hijos. No puede estar en refugios, lugares polvorientos, áreas con moho y ni siquiera en la sala de urgencias. Estos lugares son muy propensos a que se infecte. Cuando se usa blanqueador, se enfermará gravemente. Diego está frecuentemente en hospitales y clínicas debido al PEMFIGO y la Fibrosis Pulmonar. En nombre de Diego, desea darse el tiempo de su vida. No solo quiere conservar su furgoneta y vivir allí, sino que quiere sentirse saludable y ver crecer a sus 5 hijos. Solo tiene 45 años y sus hijos tienen entre 13 y 23 años. Es muy querido por su familia: padres y hermanos y amigos. Es un muy buen amigo, sobre todo, un muy buen ser humano. Es sencillo, humilde y está dispuesto a ayudar sin esperar nada a cambio. Te daría su corazón. Su situación médica no debería ser enfrentada por nadie, sin importar la edad. Queremos que Diego tenga la oportunidad de aprovechar al máximo su precioso tiempo. Puedes ayudar de cualquier manera que puedas. El apoyo a Diego sería apreciado.
