Chronic Illness is Finacialy Killing Me

As some, or many of you may or may not know for the past 12 years I have suffered from a chronic pancreatitis. This has caused massive weight loss (160 this summer), consistent visis to the emergency room, and hospitals for procedures.
This condition was caused by my excessive abuse of alcohol that many of you had a front row seat to. As many of you know I have abstained from that lifestyle for almost 10 years now, and have a family that I love with everything I got. however the damage has been done.
The pancreas is the only organ that cannot repair itself after the damage has already been done. Other organs can, heart, liver, lungs, but not this itty bitty thing that digests’s stuff
I live in pain daily, nauseated most, have very little energy to enjoy the things in life that are important (music, dates, etc) Some days are of course worse than others, and there are days even that it doesn’t really bother me, other times flare ups can take me out of the game/work for as little as a day or up to weeks at a time.
I’ve missed 3 weeks since the 1st of the year, and all of August. Luckily my Dr’s have signed off on me to utilize FMLA which protects my position, hours etc, but all of your PTO needs to be used, leaving myself, but more importantly my family with a glass that’s half empty that is filling up fast with the cost of medications, visits to the hospital, and bringing in minimal at best.
I know I’ve been a ‘gimmie’ for most of my life and most of you reading this have already helped me in so many different ways. I appreciate it all, miss you all, lastly, I thank you.
