Mike can't afford med. expenses for med treatment.

Hi, my name is Michael. This is a picture of me after jaw advancement surgery to "cure" my sleep apnea. After my first 3 week post-op visit, I told the doctor that I was still tired. He said "Maybe sleep apnea isn't the problem." Wow, that was a deep blow to me. This surgery was very expensive and painful. For other people, it was a cure. Since then, I went to figure out why I couldn't sleep.

I've been to 3 different neuroscientists, neurologists and neurofeedback specialists all out of pocket. I've spent at least $20,000 already over the course of 3 years. Turns out the problem with my sleep is purely neurological. My brain is completely unbalanced in several areas which leads to my brain always working too hard while I sleep causing fatigue, I have anxiety throughout my brain at every neurological site measured on an eeg also causing no rest in the brain during sleep. It is constantly working. I have had only one night of restful sleep my entire life.

The only solution I have found is rTMS therapy which is repetitive transcranial stimulation. It is designed to bring the brain into balance. I tried 10 sessions with the help of my mom but the sessions are $300 each and that's all my mom could afford. After one week, I slept better and rested 3 nights in a row so I know it works. The problem is that I cannot afford the 40 sessions it would take for a full course of treatment. Also, the only treatment center is 70 miles from home and I'd need to rent a room for 8 weeks to get treated.

I really need some help because the traditional treatments have not worked. The anxiety has not improved even after over 150 neurofeedback sessions. I am hoping for some sympathetic people will read that. My dream is to be a philanthropist in my own small way helping orphans in Vietnam who are abandoned mostly because of medical reasons. I also need to be able to sleep so I can have a normal life and be able to support myself. Right now, after 4 hours of sleep, I usually drive 1 hour to work and then try to sleep in the back of my truck until work opens, but the anxiety doesn't allow for sleep. At night, even after severe sleep deprivation, I cannot sleep.

I am desperate for sleep. Please help so I can help others!!!
