I am Shawn Willis, Chris' mom and will be handling the withdrawals for this campaign. Thanks in advance for your support and donations.
Chris was a father, a son, a nephew, an uncle, a cousin, a brother, and most importantly; a loyal friend. In summary, he was a good man in the most genuine sense. His life was tragically cut short by an illness that did not define the multi-faceted person he was, but it was an ailment that was highly personal and incredibly difficult to articulate.
These problems do not always manifest themselves in a way that others can see. They are invisible anomalies. They do not show up on brain scans nor blood tests. They may be physically painful, but not enough to draw sympathy from others that have never experienced them. There are no common remedies. People won't bring you dinner or write you cards when you are having constant internal battles. A conflict so habitual is something we awkwardly turn away from, and then pretend it isn't there. We pretend it isn't there, because we don't understand it.
The human experience is something we struggle with on a number of levels. We wish Chris saw in himself what we saw in him; genuine empathy for those around him. He had a kind but wayward heart and an unrivaled work ethic that became misplaced with the profound unhappiness that became indigenous to the Christopher we know.
We ask for your help to put our loved one and your friend to rest. No one ever expects to lose someone so suddenly and most of all we are completely unprepared. Any and all donations will go towards Christopher's final expenses. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless.
