Christy's travel to get skin cancer treatment
Donation protected
Hi, I'm collecting funds to help Christy travel to Congo Brazzaville to undergo surgery for her skin cancer. She's 36, has albinism and is the single mum of Daniel who is 9 years old. Persons with albinism have no melanin and are very vulnerable to skin cancer in Africa. Christy could not get treatment in Cameroon where she lives. She has to travel to Congo Brazzaville where will receive free medical care thanks to Association Jhony Chancel pour les Albinos. It's almost 2000km away and she will have to leave Daniel with neighbors for 1 month while she's away for treatment.
The 1'000 chf (1'000 USD) will go towards paying Christy's return bus fare and some money to leave with the neighbors who will take care of Daniel while his mum is away.
It is very difficult for persons with albinism to find work in Africa because of superstitions. She explained that she tried raising money herself selling cakes but people didn't want to touch the food she prepared. Christy very recently lost her mother and it's even more difficult for her to cope now. Please consider contributing if you can. Many thanks.
