Hello, my name is Jeremy and I am fundraising on behalf Christy Johnson, her partner Jobias (JB), and their four kids. Christy's kidneys are functioning at less than 15%. This year she lost her brother to the same condition. Her mother passed recently as well.

I became friends with JB as the drummer for the band I help manage, Unheard Project GSO. This year I began mentoring him on front-of-house sound engineering, so we've spent quite a bit of time together. JB has always been the star of the show with a big, warm, outgoing personality that makes everyone smile. No matter where we are, people come running to give the man a hug. He's always taking care of his kids and meeting their needs. He's the kind of guy you want to be around. 

Recently I've seen him sad and withdrawn and wanted to find out what was wrong. JB is my boy and I needed to make sure the man was ok.

After prodding him for a long while, he finally let me know how he was struggling. He explained to me how Christy's health issues had gotten worse. Some of the recent band gigs were for corporations who are slow to pay and the bills have piled up. Services were starting to get disconnected and the car is having issues. It's been overwhelming him as he is the caregiver to Christy and the kids, and he's still out there trying to pay the bills.

As a dad who has been wondering where the next meal or pay was going to come from, I knew I could and should help. After doing what we could and shaking the tree for some help, it was time to reach out to our broader community. Many folks don't feel comfortable asking for help, so I'm just glad JB and Christy have allowed me to share the need and the story with you.

Please do what you can to help put their minds at ease. These funds are for paying power, gas, water, insurance, groceries, etc. Christy needs to focus on her health. JB needs to focus on taking care of his family. Your gift will help ease the anxiety for Christy, JB, Jihmire, London, Tyler and Caleb.
