Christy had a massive stroke on Monday, June 8th. She was in ICU for 5 days and has been moved to a regular room but will have an extended stay in the hospital and the hope is she will be moved to Craig Hospital for rehab and therapy. Her husband Ed is her super advocate and is fighting the fight to get her the help she needs. The hospital was ready to write her off into a home, but she is showing them every day that she has the will and the strength to get better and we have faith she will with the right treatment and care. She is a fighter, and has already gone from being on a respirator, completely unable to move or speak, to moving her limbs, smiling and saying her first word one week later. She has a very long journey ahead of her to recovery, and we still don't know what that will look like - but if anyone can overcome, Christy can! If you know her, you know that she will do anything to help a friend, or even a stranger. I have known her to lend money, give rides to strangers, dig people out of the snow, and it did not matter who, where or when - if someone needed help she would be the first to offer. This woman has the kindest soul, and she is going to need a lot of rehab and therapy to get well. This is an extreme financial hardship, so we are hoping you will look into you heart and remember all the smiles and "super sparkly wishes" Christy always had for everyone and donate to offset some of the expense of insurance premiums and deductibles. Christy has been there for so many of us, we need to show her we are there for her! Please help if you can! If you can not donate money, please send prayers and happy, sparkly thoughts.
