Hello, I am Carissa Parrish and I am seeking financial support for my best friend Christy Meadows and her family.

I have known Christy since we were in youth group together as teens. She has always been an amazing Christian and has sought to serve others all of her life. She spent every summer as a college student doing mission work and sent time internationally doing mission trips. Her heart has always been in serving and never has she asked for anything in return. Christy is seldom recognized for her kindness and would never seek accolades for her self. She is a humble servant. I know that she has come along beside me in times of need and with all the time that she has spent helping me I know that she never has mentioned what she has done to anyone.

Christy has three beautiful children and an adoring husband Dan. Christy loves being a mom and is so incredibly proud of her children 19,16 and 8.

As a teacher of 4th grade she specializes in Math. Her passion is teaching and has a heart for children that struggle academically. She doesn't just love to teach, this is her calling. She was at school on December 15th when she collapsed. Christy is a sever asthmatic and upon arrival at the hospital they determined that she had pneumonia in both lungs and Covid-19. She was sent home and two days later she was admitted to ICU. She spent the next few weeks prone and on a Bipap machine. On January 2 Christy was put on a ventilator and is under sedation. Currently, the hospital here in Chattanooga is awaiting availability for and ECHMO unit in Nashville in hopes that her lungs might have the opportunity to heal.

First and foremost I ask for prayers for the Meadows family and healing for my precious friend and then I ask for financial support. Christy with Dan at her side has spent almost a month thus far in ICU and has a long journey ahead of her. Dan has exhausted his paid leave from work and their household like most requires dual income. Dan is physically and emotionally tired and felt that he needed to go back to work to maintain support for the family. If you can help lighten his burden please give what you can.
