The sudden passing of Nathan Andrew Christy (35) weighs heavy on our hearts. We hope that this GoFundMe page will bring Nate’s incredible family, his wife Marguerite and their four children, the support and comfort they need as they navigate through this unexpected and difficult chapter of life.
Nate was truly one of the good ones. He led a life of selflessness in everything he did. From the moment he met his beautiful wife Marguerite in college, it became evident that their purpose in life was to provide hope and love to those who needed it most. As Nate and Marguerite envisioned starting a family, their hearts opened to children who weren’t fortunate enough to have the love and support that they deserved. Nate and Marguerite worked tirelessly to foster and adopt children, but not just any children. They specifically sought children who would have otherwise been lost in the system due to medical issues. They were determined to beat the system and devoted all of their time and energy to giving each of their children unconditional love.
Nate worked a demanding job at Google so that Marguerite could dedicate her time to their children. He rushed home after work, every night, to spend as much time as possible with his adoring family. Despite the demands of both of their familial roles, Nate and Marguerite always beamed with pride and utter joy when describing the unique personalities of their kids and their adoration of each other. Nate and Marguerite exuded love, so much so that the Pittsburgh Police chief recently tweeted about a love lock the department discovered on a local bridge (here ). Throughout their marriage, Nate and Marguerite supported each other through all of the great and difficult times.
Unfortunately, one of the most difficult times in their lives occurred when their family suffered the devastating loss when their son Sam passed away in 2018. The loss took an incredible toll on the family but Nate and Marguerite continued to stay strong and work together to keep Sam’s spirit alive. In fact, just a week prior to his passing, Nate was dutifully planting flowers at Sam's grave. That’s who Nate was.
Now, as Marguerite faces the future without her beloved Nate and as the Christy children face the future without their incredible dad, we hope that you will consider contributing to their fund. While nothing could ever take away their pain, we hope that this page will to provide them with the security and peace of mind for the future that they need. Nate will be deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts. We are so grateful for your support!
