Christy & Dallas Freeman unexpected medical exp

This fundraiser is set up by friends of Dallas and Christy Freeman who see a need and are praying God‘s blessings upon them. Christy and Dallas are originally from Odessa and were well known in the community. Dallas retired from the Ector County Sheriff’s department a couple of years ago and they moved to Kerrville. Both have continued to work to meet their financial needs. Back on June 28, 2021, Christy had a hiatal hernia surgery which unfortunately had complications. They ended up having to do the surgery in two phases. The second phase was completed on September 27, 2021. Although the surgery was successful, Christy had major complications and was unable to resume a normal diet. She was unable to eat and could barely drink any liquids. On October 27, 2021, she went back to the hospital and they did an emergency scope. Come to find out her esophagus was extremely swollen and very narrow. At that point the doctors used a balloon to expand her esophagus, however, when they did that, it caused a tear!!! At that point things really went downhill as air and fluids began to go into her chest. She has been in the hospital since. All these complications resulted in a staff infection as well as many other health issues. On November 10, 2021, they did another scope (surgery) and a stent was placed inside her esophagus to repair the tear. Christy has a long road of recovery ahead of her. Dallas has been driving back-and-forth from Kerrville to San Antonio to be with her and he has not been able to work. As anyone could imagine, all of these unforeseen circumstances have caused a financial hardship. At this time, we are asking all who know them to pull together and support them as much as we can. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, not only by Christy and Dallas but by all of their friends.
