Christy Addy’s house fire

My name is Julie Young and it is with great sadness that I am creating this fundraiser. My dear friend Christy Addy lost the contents of her home Monday morning October 30th due to a house fire. The fire itself was contained to the kitchen, but smoke and water damage has deemed everything a total loss and her house has to be rebuilt down to the studs. Christy was finally wrapping up a renovation (something she saved for years to do) with some new furniture, and was still paying those bills when tragedy struck. She does have insurance, but with the bills from the renovation plus her deductible (and we know insurance won't cover enough to replace everything), I am hoping we can lessen her financial stress as insurance only provides so much coverage.

To make things even worse, just a few weeks ago, Christy lost the most loving and giving person she has ever known - her mom. Earlier this year, she lost her beloved uncle. And Spicy, her fur baby that meant the world to her, also suddenly passed away. Any of these events singularly would take their toll emotionally on anyone, but to have all of this within the span of a few months is more than one person can bare. During the renovation, Christy lost her job last year due to company wide lay-offs and went months before finally finding a job this summer.

Anything we can do to at least help ease the financial burden looming over her head will be a tremendous help. While she will never be able to replace items with sentimental value, sending money in any amount will help. If you would rather send gift cards, such as Amazon or Target, those too would be just as helpful as she rebuilds her life.
