Help us bring Christos home to Greece for his final rest

Hi everyone,

My name is Urvashi, and I’m raising funds to help bring Christos’ body from Germany to Greece, so he can be laid to rest near his family.

Christos was a joyful, kind-hearted man who worked at my father’s restaurant for many years. Over time, he became more than just an employee, he became part of our family. Christos had no close relatives in Germany, no wife or children. My dad became his closest companion, and he was always around, sharing laughs, meals, and stories. He even gave me the name “Elena” as a sweet sign of affection.

Sadly, Christos passed away recently after suffering a severe heart attack. Because he had no legal family in Germany, my father wasn’t allowed to visit him in the hospital during his final days. He died alone, and we were devastated.

Determined to find his real family, my dad and his friends searched extensively online. Miraculously, they found his sister in Greece and informed her of his passing. She has now come to Germany and wishes to bring her brother’s body home to Greece for a proper funeral. Unfortunately, the family is very poor and cannot afford the high costs of transportation and burial.

Since my father and his friends were never able to say goodbye, this fundraising effort is their final act of love and a way to honor Christos and give him the farewell he deserves. They’ve been going from shop to shop asking for help, which inspired me to create this GoFundMe and reach a wider community.
