I’m raising funds for my grandson, Christopher, after he was hit by a car and suffered life-threatening injuries. On July 20th, Christopher was airlifted from Juneau, Alaska to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. After 4 surgeries and many prayers, he survived, but he also suffered a stroke that caused paralysis on his left side. He is now facing a long recovery as he heals from a severely damaged pelvis.
Christopher needs continued rehabilitation, but there are no rehabilitation facilities in Alaska that can take his case. His case manager was able to find a facility in Idaho that will work with Alaska Medicaid, which is a huge step forward. The problem is that his insurance only covers his treatment and further care in Alaska, and it will not cover the ambulance transport needed to get him from Seattle to Idaho. We are still awaiting determination on whether Christopher can safely travel by ground or if he will need an air ambulance, and the transportation need depends on that medical decision.

- Ground ambulance or air ambulance transport from Seattle to Idaho, depending on what is medically required
- Other uncovered medical expenses that may come up during Christopher’s recovery
