On Dec 12th, 2016 my brother Christopher Friend lost his life to a suspected heroin overdose.  His death is being further investigated by police for possible homicide.  He was laid to rest on Dec 20th, 2016.  My family and I are trying to cope with the tragedy and attempting to pool enough resources to provide him with a dignified burial.  At 23 years old his death was unexpected.  He was a kind, bright young man, who always had a smile on his face.  He struggled with addiction for several years but unfortunately, he was unable to break free.  We supported him through multiple rehab programs trying to prevent this very outcome.  Even through all the turmoil, he remained a brother that I was proud of.  This is the first time that I have been responsible for a funeral/ burial and was ignorant to the overwhelming costs involved.  Family members and close family friends have been extremely generous, helping in whatever way they can; and I am forever grateful.  Unfortunately, we are still short.  Any funds raised will go directly to the funeral/burial costs.  My family and I appreciate all your prayers and support.  Chris will be greatly missed, and will forever be in our hearts.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those and their families struggling with this illness and those who have lost a loved one to this battle.....
