Christopher's medical journey started on July 2, 2009. He was involved in a motorcycle accident, leaving him with a dislocated spine and a pinched spinal cord. He was left paralyzed at the T12-L1 location.
In 2020, Christopher started getting pressure ulcers, which were treated frequently until he had his first surgery to fix them. He was in the hospital for 4 weeks. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of his wound care. The process started over again with more surgeries and more time spent in the hospital. Christopher became very sick at times, traveling to multiple emergency rooms, KU hospital, and various wound care doctors. It's been 4 years of fighting this vicious cycle.
Christopher has recently been accepted into the stem cell program in Panama City, Panama. Receiving stem cells would drastically prevent wounds from forming and could possibly cause him to regain movement back in his legs.
This fundraiser is to help Christopher with the procedure deposit, airfare, and necessities while there. A remaining $24,000 will be due at time of surgery. Once the deposit amount is met, he can book a date for the procedure. Please continue to follow Christopher's story, as we will have more fundraisers and events to allow him this opportunity.
