Our Lady of Hope Guitar Scholarships,

It's with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Chris Simpson who left us all too soon from heart complications. A graduate of Immaculate Conception Class of 1971, he was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and papa. Chris was known and loved by many. A man of many hobbies and talents, Chris loved the guitar above all of them. Wherever he was his favorite Guild 12-String wasn't far behind. He gave his talent freely, playing in church groups (Immaculate Conception), nursing homes, weddings, dances, and parties- wherever and for whoever needed music!

It's no exaggeration to say the guitar changed Chris's life and became a signature accomplishment of who he was. Many others have had their lives similarly affected. He was greatly admired by all who heard him perform. Nothing would have pleased him more than passing on his love of playing and knowing other kids could follow in his musical footsteps. It is in this spirit that the "Our Lady of Hope Guitar Scholarship" will be offered to interested school students.

If you were a friend of Chris's or the Simpson family, a guitar player, a music lover, or simply wish to support our students, please consider a donation to help kids who might otherwise be unable to start their musical journey. Lessons will be given by Instructors from Kennelly Keys Music Store in Everett. Scholarships will be by need and merit-based, open to both boys and girls and managed by the music department at Our Lady of Hope.
