Christopher Robbins Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
We have started this GoFundMe in honor of Christopher Robbins [Son, Brother, Marine and Friend]. For any of you who may not know, Chris’ right hand (his dominant hand) was degloved in an injury on July 10th. Sadly, after three surgeries within a week, his thumb, index and middle fingers had to be fully amputated. His ring finger was reduced to the size of his pinky. His pinky was mostly untouched. As you can imagine, this has been a traumatic life changing experience that will continue to require additional surgeries as well as Chris adapting to a new way of life.
Chris, as you all know, is one of the most fun-loving, easygoing and goodhearted 20yr old kid’s you'll ever meet. He is loves to have fun, tell jokes, go hunting/fishing, ride his mini bikes and play Xbox with his friends. This past week has been very scary for us as his family but Chris has shown nothing but bravery, strength and a positive attitude. There is no definitive timeline for Chris’ progress since amputees & hand injuries are so complex and sensitive. He is determined not only to become ambidextrous but also to stay true to the Marine motto; Adapt, Improvise and Overcome.
We set up this GoFundMe page as a communication platform to ensure we keep all of Chris’ wonderful friends and family up to date on his status and progress. If at all possible, please provide donations for his recovery, longer term healing and to help him get back to his new ‘normal’. If you are unable to donate, prayers and good vibes are just as important!
The Robbins family thanks the many friends and family members who have reached out to support Chris through this difficult time. The amazing love and kind words of encouragement have truly been touching and will continue to be instrumental in aiding Chris’ battle through recovery.
We are all so proud of our brother; his resilience will undoubtedly pull him through this nightmare of a situation. We are all hoping and praying for his recovery! We’re all rooting for you bro-ski! Semper Fi, Oorah!
