Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Michaela Richardson, and I am reaching out on behalf of my incredible father, who is currently in the hospital, awaiting the results of his lymphoma diagnosis and recovering from surgery to drain over a liter of fluid from around his heart. He was admitted to Henry Ford Macomb on March 23, and it appears he will be staying there for some time. While he desperately wants to be at home surrounded by family and his beloved fur babies, his health does not yet allow for that.

At this time, it is crucial for him to focus on his recovery and the journey that is ahead. Unfortunately, with my father unable to work—and likely unable to return for quite a while—this has caused mass stress over my parents financial situation, and bills are starting to pile up.

For those who know him, you understand that my dad is the kind of person who has always believed in hard work and never accepts help unless absolutely necessary. He would give the last dollar in his pocket or the shirt off his back without hesitation. All he has ever wanted is to be the best husband, father, brother, and friend he can be. He is the rock of our family, and it is heartbreaking to see him in such a vulnerable state, yet still thinking of us and putting our needs first.
