Christopher Maize Memorial Scholarship

Christopher Maize was a pure and unique soul, a gentle, quiet man with a fierce passion for serving God. He beat his own path and honored his dreams as much as he honored those lucky enough to be in his life. He loved unconditionally and anyone who knew him was blessed and strengthened by him.

He was so many things to so many people.  You may remember him for his love of animals: goats, gold fish, dogs, cats, chickens, you name it. Perhaps you recall his Indiana Jones hat phase, his Back-to-the-Future Doc Brown phase, his trench coat phase, his art, his music, his story telling, his love of all things flying, his sense of humor, his laugh, his patience, his friendship to any and all, especially the down-trodden or out-cast, his love, or the purity of his soul. Whatever Chris was/is to you, we want to honor him and what he gave to this world.

To honor him we are developing a scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating senior at Camp Verde High School.  Chris was a 1993 CVHS graduate.  Ultimately our goal is to make the Christopher Maize Memorial Scholarship an annual award/gift.

We sincerely appreciate any donation and will keep you updated as the program is developed.  We are working closely with Chris' wife, Lari, to develop the amount of the scholarship, the selection process standards, and the selection committee.  We will aim to provide our first scholarship to a 2021 graduate.  

This is but one path that allows us to bless others as we honor Chris' legacy.  Every scholarship selectee will be told his story and will no doubt join the many that are thankful for his time on this earth.
