Christopher F. Blackburn Sr., 66, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025. Known for his generous heart and selfless spirit, Chris was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
Born with a heart full of compassion, Chris built a life centered on caring for others. Whether through his quiet acts of kindness or his boundless devotion to his family, he touched countless lives in meaningful ways.
Chris was predeceased by his parents James Blackburn 1985 and Margaret Blackburn (Dougherty) 2006, and his brother William J. Blackburn 1978. He was also predeceased by his wife Carol Blackburn (Antes) who died December 18, 1995.
Chris is survived by his loving brother, James Blackburn, his wife Deborah, and their children, James Blackburn Jr. and Amy Granato. He is also survived by his sister, Rose Farquharson, her husband Gregory, and their daughters Caitlin Auld and Jill Farquharson.
Chris leaves behind his four cherished children:
Christopher Blackburn Jr. his daughter Madeline Blackburn, along with his wife Sarai-ann Knott and stepson Benjamin Ebert
William Blackburn, and his children Shannon Blackburn and Mikki Blackburn, with his girlfriend Nina Maslanka
Margaret Edwards, her husband Keith Edwards, and their children Kenneth and Riley
Kathryn Blackburn, and her children Kylie Nelson and Patrick Ramsey Jr.
Chris was not only a devoted father and grandfather but also a steady presence of love and strength for all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, each of whom carry a piece of his heart with them.
A funeral service to honor Chris’s life will be held on August 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701.
In celebrating Chris’s life, we remember a man whose love knew no bounds, whose laughter brought joy, and whose kindness will echo for generations to come. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
