My name is Gabrielle Duffman, and I am trying to raise money to help pay for my dad's medical bills. He is a Corporal at a jail in Eastville, VA. He is a 6'9 giant, but he is the biggest teddy bear and is one of the kindest men I know. He treats everyone with respect and gives second chances, and goes out of his way to help other people (which is why he became a cop). As of today (April 29th, 2023) I am sitting in the hospital. This morning I found him seizing on the floor. I won't get into too much detail, but he is at the moment going through heart surgery. There is a bad tear in one of the arteries of his heart, and on top of that his only kidney is acting up. As much as I want him to receive the best care possible, the care is expensive. I am 16 years old, and I have a younger brother who is 13. My mom is so worried about my dad, and if I didn't think I'd need to make this, I wouldn't. Honestly, I'm not sure how much his medical bills will cost, but according to my grandparents, $200,000 is a good goal to reach. We really, really need anyone's help and anyone's donation counts toward helping my dad recover to his full self. He is nothing but caring, and I love him so much. I don't even want to think about money and bills right now, but unfortunately while we wait to hear how his condition is, the topic came up. I am asking as not only a daughter but a young woman for support to help my father and mother to take as much stress off them as possible. Thank you so much.

UPDATE (April 29th, 2023): I have no words that can express my gratitude to everyone who has sent money to help my dad. I thank all of you wholeheartedly, and when dad wakes up I know he will feel the same way. As of tonight, he has made it through his surgery! He is not awake yet, but will be in 1 to 2 days. He seems to be in good condition and the doctors have faith that he will be A-okay. Once again thank you all so much and I will continue to include updates! ♡

3RD UPDATE (May 8th, 2023): It's definitely been a bit since I've updated, but here it is! Everyone's kindness has been astounding and dad (who is awake!) was moved to tears by everyone's kindness. He wants everyone to know that he is so grateful for the continued love and support he has received, just like the rest of us. He, as of Saturday, has come home! We are still under the near-constant watch of home nurses and our family, but he is getting better every day that goes by. I also want to take a moment to thank all of the doctors and nurses that took such good care of my dad: I and the rest of my family are forever in your debt ♡. I will continue to update his condition, and once again a thousand thank yous and I love yous to everyone who has donated in more ways than one.

4TH AND FINAL UPDATE (July 6th, 2023): Hi everyone!! It's certainly been a minute since I've updated on here, but life has been moving pretty fast. Dad is weeks ahead of what was predicted, and continues to amaze us and improve every single day. He goes to cardiac therapy 3 days a week, and he has started going to the gym again (strictly cardio, haha!). We have officially started paying the bills, and thanks to you guys, we will be able to pay them! I truly cannot express how thankful I am, and my dad has a message for everyone:

Thank you for your well wishes, thoughtfulness, and donations! Your kindness has done more than help to pay medical bills, it's help to restore my faith that the world still is full of goodness. I use to say we pay more attention to the bad in the world, because there is so much goodness we don't notice it. Well thanks to all of you I got see it first hand. Thank you.
