My name is Christopher Contino. I am a 67-year-old retired airline pilot with a wife and a 15-year-old son. I am currently battling cancer for the third time since 2013. My latest battle began in March 2022 when I was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer, affecting my ability to support my family actively. Since I was diagnosed, I have lost my ability to swallow and rely on a PEG tube for my nutrition and hydration requirements, in addition to a tracheotomy for assistance in breathing. I completed radiation and chemotherapy in June and am experiencing severe side effects from the treatment, such as lymphedema in my neck that severely limit my ability to even take care of myself, let alone my family.
