Christopher Cabo's Service Expenses

Donation protected

Throughout his life, my brother, Christopher, suffered a tremendous amount of trauma. It is difficult to pinpoint when exactly his traumatic experiences began, but it may have started at the age of five years old. Naturally, during this time Christopher searched for guidance from other prominent male figures in his life, as a result. These men provided security and happiness for him but unfortunately, this happiness would be short-lived as he would be transferred into the foster care system and subsequently his first foster home at the age of 11 years. In this specific incidence, Christopher was in foster kinship which occurs when a foster child resides with their relatives, which in this case were his aunt and uncle. Throughout this time, Christopher would be severely bullied by some family members and individuals who claimed to be his friends. Unfortunately, these same individuals engaged in drug abuse, and thus Christopher did. At 20 years old, Christopher was asked to leave his residence, so he did. As a result, he sought solace from his father but was asked to leave shortly after his arrival. As a result, my brother Christopher, would remain homeless off and on for the next 10 years of his life. During this time, he would face the most severe trauma that only a select few individuals in the world could have conquered. On multiple occasions, he would almost freeze to death outside as he walked to work in his stained clothing. I will never understand how he never complained about walking miles to his place of employment to make pizzas for $9.25 per hour. While homeless, he often slept outside and would have to fend off other muggers who attempted to rob him of his belongings. Due to these and several other traumatic events, Christopher developed a complex version of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) but again, he never complained…
The purpose of the aforementioned paragraph is not to highlight the shortcomings of those involved in the activities that led to Christopher’s trauma but rather to describe Christopher's perseverance and resiliency throughout his life. In addition to his ability to overcome tremendous adversities, Christopher was an absolutely brilliant chef; I mean that, Chris. I have never tasted better Italian food in my entire life besides Gigi’s and even that was comparable to your homemade recipes. Furthermore, Christopher was an incredibly caring individual who was always concerned about the well-being of others. It was not uncommon for him to inquire about the whereabouts of his grandmother, Emily, his Uncle Mike, his Aunt Jodie, his Uncle Harry, his Aunt Karen his cousins, and of course his brothers…He loved those individuals so much and was always forgiving and caring towards them...Christopher, could you do me a favor? Please provide my love to Michael’s best friend Joey Falzone, your best friend, Blaine, our great-grandmother, Gigi, our cousin, Jeremy; our grandfather, Papa; and all of those whose memories will live forever within the confines of our hearts.
At this time, we are asking for support from the community to finance the expenses associated with making my brother, Christopher, feel loved. Any donation, big or small, will help immensely during this incredibly trying time. If you feel compelled to share this post and the link to GoFundMe, our family would appreciate that, as I am sure he would, as well. We want to show him how special he was to all of us. In other words, we would like to show him that he was, is and will always be loved by many.

I love you eternally, Chris. I hope these kind words touch your spirit and inform you how deeply I felt about you even though I did not explicitly say the phrase “I love you,” every time I was in contact with you.

Your little brother, Joe
