Hi friends, this is Catherine Kelly; I'm hoping to help my sweet, wonderful friend Amy Burk. If you're a Hoboken person, chances are you know Amy and Chris and their beautiful family - they are longtime residents and have contributed to the community in countless ways (Amy is the owner of Pilates Fitness Boutique). Chris passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, and like me, everyone is saying "what can I do?" and "how can we help?" Well, along with your continued prayers, this fundraiser is how you can truly help them. Flowers and cards and trays of lasagna are certainly nice gestures, but I know firsthand that with such a shocking tragedy, any efforts to mitigate the huge financial stress are BEYOND appreciated. Emily is in middle school, but Griffin and Avery are both in college -- that's a lot, even for families with two parents. These funds will inevitably help Amy with any funeral expenses (etc) and hopefully pay for whatever the kids may need during this difficult time. Let's come together and help this family. Granted, money won't "fix" things, but I guarantee it will lower stress levels and provide some tangible relief. It might be cheesy and trite to talk about "paying it forward" but Amy has been an incredible friend to me for 13 years, and I'm sure many of you can say the same. She was there for me during tragic times, and it's my sincere, fervent hope that I can return the favor. Please, I implore you, join me in supporting Amy, Griffin, Avery and Emily.
