4/20/2025 Off day today no therapy. Paps visited today. Christon shot Brayden a bird today and told his mama he loved her today.

4/19/2025 Easy therapy day of only 30 minutes and they stretched him out in bed today. More writing on the board today.

4/18/2025 Christon is doing good and more awake with therapy. This morning with speech he wasn’t doing anything but was able to eat a few ice chips for them. They got him up onto a bicycle but unfortunately he couldn’t get the rhythm down yet for that. Measurements were taken for his left hand because it's swelling and they are going to wrap it Monday. Sierra and Memaw and Papaw was able to travel to Atlanta to see him for several days.

4/17/2025 Christon is more awake today than yesterday. Since he’s not really doing anything in therapy, they've decided to do a CT scan to make sure everything is still looking good with the shunt. If CT scan looks good then it's just him being tired and wore out from the other sessions of therapy the lasts couple of days. CT was good and they didn’t see any major issues with his shunt.

4/16/2025 Therapy is kicking his butt these days. All he wants to do is sleep.

4/15/2025 Today Christon wrote the word "Emergency" with a marker on the board they gave him.

4/14/2025 Christon had a very busy day of therapy today. He had an actual shower for the 1st time in about 12 weeks.

4/13/2025 Christon is being able to go outside in his chair for fresh air. Had a good visit with Paps and Cindy today. He gave Paps a fist bump and high five before he left.

4/12/2025 Christon got a chair and was able to get dressed for the 1st time in very long time.

4/11/2025 Christon left at 9 am this morning to make his journey to Atlanta. They made a safe trip and arrived at Shepherd Center at 2:30 pm.

4/10/2025 Christon's medical insurance overturned the denial and he got approved today!!!! He will be transported tomorrow. We are beyond blessed.

4/9/2025 Christon's insurance denied him going to Shepherd Center in Atlanta. They're doing insurance doctor to Christon's doctor call and Rehab doctor call with insurance doctor to try and get him approved. This is what he deserves and needs to get him on the road to recovery.

4/8/2025 Still awaiting insurance to decide on the transfer to Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Christon is talking a little more and he does know he is still in the hospital. Insurance has until the 10th to review.

4/7/2025 Christon was supposed to leave this morning for Atlanta but, the insurance company is taking their sweet time reviewing his case to go to Atlanta to Shepherd Center. Christon talked to Papaw again today. It appears he's the only one he's talking to. Probably mad at the rest of us!

4/6/2025 Christon talked for the 1st time in a very very long time today! He did talk to Papaw saying "probably" and "Papaw".

4/5/2025 Christon did well today. Aunt Nikki and Derrick went to visit. Had a good visit. Aunt Nikki massaged his arm and moved them up and down just to get them moving. He was enjoying playing possum.

4/4/2025 Bubbas CT they did showed everything was good. They had to brace his hand because he's squeezing his fingers together, causing him to shake. Christon was approved to go to Shepherd Center. Now we wait to see what insurance says about it. He’s good we talked to him earlier. Giving the bird today but he went back to sleep.

4/3/2025 Awaiting approval from Shepherd Center still. Hoping to find out soon.

4/2/2025 Making all kinds of noises today after getting the trachea out.

4/1/2025 Has a lot of coughing spells over night. Awaiting to see if he can go to Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Christon got his trachea out today! Still coughing but, hoping the coughing will get better with the trachea out. Eating some ice chips today.

3/30/2025 Throwing up today. Checked stomach with an xray. Sitting in the ortho chair today. Coughing a lot today and sweating. Xray looked good from stomach.

3/29/2025 Urinating last night and today without catheter. He's feeling ok today but, he did have an episode with his blood pressure dropping and his heart rate spiked. They've moved him back to ICU where they're familiar with him and his care that's needed for his trachea etc. They've done a CT and they've waiting on the results of that as well as an xray.

3/28/2025 Xray today just to check everything. Sleeping some today but, was able to get in his ortho chair today. He was able to input the code to Sierras phone and open it today. CT will be done early in the morning.

3/27/2025 Christon came through surgery well today. He came back and was wide awake. He had a death grip on his snake when Addy was playing tug of war with him. He was also holding Sierras hair. Gave Dr. Lee a thumbs up! Praying for continued healing.

3/26/2025 Surgery will take place tomorrow to put adjustment valve in the shunt for better adjustments. Ear nose and throat doctor come in earlier cleaned his ears. Bubba has a spot on his vocal cords from being incubated so much. And they won't know if he has hearing loss, but on the left side, he did have broken bones to the hearing part, so its possible he's going to have hearing loss. They said they would know more when he is able to take a hearing test. They have moved him to a step down room.

3/25/2025 No update yet for surgery. They did do a swallow test today but, his swallow reactions were slower than they wanted. CT tonight and will know more about surgery tomorrow

3/24/2025 Christon is sleeping a lot today. CT showed some fluid in between the flap and the brain but not a lot. Possibly has to have a surgery tomorrow to put an adjustment valve inside the shunt to give 1/2 settings. He was able to drink a few sips of water earlier today. Also playing thumb wars with his mom. Gave his dad a high five and a fist bump.

3/23/2025 Still waiting on the CT results. Bubba is sleeping today. He's a little dehydrated. Shunt still at 7. He's still at 20 degrees in the bed. Hoping to get him raised up a little depending on results of the CT. They raised him up some because the CT results looked good.

3/22/2025 They raised him up some today and do another CT in the morning. Awake on and off today.

3/21/2025 Christon was responding some this morning. CT performed early this morning. They've had him laying flat all day until the another CT is done early in the morning. Made some adjustments to his medicine today as well.

3/20/2025 Shunt was working too much today. There is too much fluid in between the brain and the skull. They closed the shunt off for now. They drained some of the old blood out with a butterfly needle and wrapped his head.

3/19/2025 physical and occupational therapy came in today. Resting from the surgery yesterday and watching lots of basketball. Coughing some still but, hoping this gets better after they remove the trachea. Using left side more and more now.

3/18/2025 Feeding tube procedure went well. There is talks to remove the trachea after Christon recovers from the surgery for the feeding tube. White blood count has been elevated. Been puking hoping this resolves with the stomach feeding tube placement.

3/17/2025 plan for tomorrow is to remove the nasal feeding tube and place feeding tube into the stomach. His rehab ability is uncertain as he is currently unable to perform the minimum requirement to be able to go to Stallworth. He will not be returning to Select Specialty as this is not what is best for him and his recovery. There has been talks of sending him out of state to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. Stallworth is reviewing his case and we should know soon what the next step will be.

3/16/2025 less than 24 hours back at Vanderbilt and there have been major improvements. Moving the left side again.

3/15/2025 Christon had to return to Vanderbilt today. CT shows some fluid in between the brain and the new brain flap. Tons of tests are being ran in preparation for tomorrow. Hoping for some improvement overnight and will update as soon as we know anything additional.

3/14/2025 Christon is awake quite a bit today. Getting to sit in his ortho chair. Today your sister Addison was able to participate in the lifeflight EMS Ambassador Academy at Vanderbilt learning the roles of emergency technicians, paramedics and nurses. So very proud of her.

3/13/2025 not much happening hopeful he will get to make some more improvements over the coming days.

3/12/2025 Christon was awake and eating some ice today. Some sips of water today too.

3/11/2025 Christon was able to bust out of Vanderbilt today and was transferred to Select Specialty Hospital where he will continue his recovery journey. We are very optimistic he will make major improvements there.

3/10/2025 Adjustments to the shunt today to allow more fluid to drain. Fluid around the eye looks much better today. Fist bump today as well as the bird. Trachea will stay for a bit longer just incase it's needed. Still praying daily for progress.

3/9/2025 Christon urinated on his own today! This is huge since his bladder has been asleep for a long period of time. EEG results were good. MRI results were good as well. He did get in the neuro chair today. He did wave and do a thumbs up today. His eye is a little swollen today. Fluid is pooling on that one side.

3/8/2025 Christon is still waiting on a step down room. Following with his eyes today. CT was done as precaution. Got one of the drains out today.

3/7/2025 Christon had a good day with checks every 2 hours during the day instead of every hour and every 4 hours at night so he can rest. They're saying he may be able to get the trachea out next week. Also waiting on a step down room to bust out of ICU! Good improvements showing on the CT scan today as well.

3/6/2025 Christon had surgery today and everything went good. Dr Lee said that he has to be monitored for several days to make sure the flap is working properly with the pressure. If he quits following commands or is not responding he will go for a CT to ensure everything is okay. Praying

3/5/2025 Christon did good today and they've moved shunt several times so he can build fluid and stay up there. That way they don’t have to stop his feedings because if they have to lay him flat he gets sick. They did blood work and some cultures looking for infection or anything that could be causing the white blood count to be elevated.

3/4/2025 Still making adjustments to the shunt trying to get that regulated. Looking forward to surgery Thursday. Keep fighting Christon.

3/3/2025 Therapy came and and was able to sit Christon on the side of the bed for 15 minutes. Trying to build strength back in his neck to be able to support his head. Also the plastic surgery team came in and was getting pictures of his head and getting a game plan for his next surgery on Thursday. He will be getting a 3D printed brain flap. Still working on getting his shunt adjusted.

3/2/2025 Christon is about the same today as the other days. Still making adjustments to the shunt. Hoping for some progress in the upcoming days.

3/1/2025 More challenges today with shunt, pressure, drainage. Christon has a cough and they've been giving medication for this but, he's lost a few staples from coughing today. Pray this eases as we move forward to prevent any other issues. Christon is one hell of a fighter! Keep fighting Bubba we love you.

2/28/2025 Christon has met some challenges today with the shunt. They're trying to find where to set the shunt to drain properly. Draining enough to not build pressure but, not draining too much. He's on bed rest today and they're trying to change the elevation of the bed to manage the drainage as well. Thankfully my brother in law is able to advocate for him since he's staying day and night with him. At this point he could probably be a nurse he's learned so much by being there with him.

2/27/2025 Surgery went well today. Slept most of the day after the surgery. Hoping for some more improvements tomorrow.

2/26/2025 They put the cap on Christon's trachea and this allowed him to eat a few ice chips, and also take sips of water from a straw. He isn't talking yet. He's making growling sounds right now from it. Hoping to hear him speak again soon. Surgery tomorrow and prayers it goes smoothly. Vanderbilt did purchase a camera that will allow them to see any residual blood before the shunt is placed. This will be used with future patients to prevent the shunt being placed where it could clot and have to be removed like Christon's did.

2/24/2025 - 2/25/2025 Christon was out of bed alot in the ortho chair and that has worn him out. He was bouncing his left leg.

2/23/2025 Today they have Christon out of the bed and in the ortho chair. Hopeful this will jump start the recovery. He is really awake today. He got to hold his dad's monster can for a minute. He was also able to push the lotion out of its container today. Slept some in the ortho chair also. Moving forward little by little day by day.

2/22/2025 Finally got a thumbs up for the nurses today. Today was Sierras birthday. We got a bird finger from him today. The nurses made him a squeezing thing out of a glove. Christon has been squeezing on this to build strength in his hands. Christon did several arm exercises with Addison today. Addison is a natural caring for him.

2/21/2025 Routine CT done today since he wasn't responding much. Everything looked good with the CT. After coming back from the CT he did show hand signals to say I love you. He is resting a lot these days.

2/20/2025 Christon is still on oxygen with the trachea. He waved at several family members while on FaceTime.

2/19/2025 The trachea was successful today. Christon seems to be more comfortable with this and is only receiving oxygen at this time through it. He did hold onto the tooth brush wand tonight and help the nurse brush his teeth while on FaceTime with us. Keep fighting Bubba! We love you

2/18/2025 The decision has been made to remove Christon from the ventilator and he will undergo a tracheostomy to better assist to provide an alternative airway for breathing. Christon is getting very tired with his breathing. He is also looking at another surgery next week and this is the best option for him at this time. This will take place tomorrow. We are hopeful with this in place it will allow him to continue making progress towards improvements.

2/17/2025 MRI looked good. For some reason he's producing excessive cerebral spinal fluid now and they've drop the drain system down to -5. This means they're pulling more fluid but, the shunt system is unable to go negative. This means that they will have to possibly use a special shunt system if he continues to produce excessive fluid. They're exploring why he's doing this currently in hopes to figure this out before next week before the shunt surgery has to happen again. Doctor feels good about the recovery based on the current MRI. No time frame or specifics just that it appears to indicate a good prognosis. They still feel like he's getting lazy with the vent. Plans are to wean him for several hours in hopes to build strength back up in his lungs so they're working better. No other medical issues are showing so it has to be that he's dependent on the machine to do the breathing for him. The Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear, colorless fluid that circulates around the brain and spinal cord a protective thing for the brain. Bubbas brain is producing a lot at certain times and then not producing a lot the next minute. Creating inconsistent data for how to set the shunt. They said it's producing a lot at certain times because of all the trama his brain has experienced. They're monitoring it to see why he's producing different amounts at different times. They won't know what they're gonna do until they identify what's causing it to fluctuate. Continue to fight Bubba. We love you

2/16/2025 The doctor's are trying to get the fluid off the brain. Trying to work on turning the ventilator down to build strength back up in his lungs. He's letting the machine do some of his breathing without making any effort of his own.

2/15/2025 Christon started to follow commands today. His mom gave him a pedicure and got his feet feeling amazing.

2/14/2025 Christon was taken back in surgery today. They clamped off the shunt that they put in a few days ago because it was completely blocked. They put the EVD drain system back in place for now. He did give us a scare yesterday and the ventilator had to assist him for breathing for about 8 minutes. We know he is a strong warrior but, we know he's tired. Keep praying for strength as his body continues to heal. His story is not finished. We have faith that his healing continues. He did wiggle his toes tonight. Still has the ventilator. Hoping he can get that out as soon as possible.

2/13/2025 Christon is getting very tired breathing so they're leaving the ventilator in for now to assist him with breathing. Hoping he can get that out as quickly as possible to prevent another round of pneumonia. Not much change for today.

2/12/2025 Christon is still doing well. Still has the vent for now. Hoping he can get this removed tomorrow to prevent any pneumonia this go round. He is still very sleepy. Wearing out easily. Dr. Lee the neuro doctor came in and said everything did still look good and surgery did go well. Will try and remove the other drain tube tomorrow. Now just rest for his brain to heal. Physical therapy did come in this morning. They had him sitting up for a few minutes and he was reaching with his right hand to get to his wife's hand.

2/11/2025 Christon had surgery to place a shunt. Doctor's said he did great. He is still on ventilator until he wakes up enough for this to come out. We do now have movement on both sides of his body. This is a huge step in the right direction for his recovery. Unable to remove the vent today since he is very sleepy but, they will try to remove tomorrow.

2/8/2025 - 2/10/2025 The last few days have been about the same. Christon is having episodes where his heart rate is dropping. They're giving medication when this happens. They've been trying to determine what was causing this over the last few days. The conclusion was that the right skull flap being gone is allowing the drainage to pool on the right side and this is causing the issue. Physical & occupational therapy came in to see Bubba. He did great reaching for the towel, his neck appears very stiff. He talked to Jessica and Sierra, waving and telling them Hi. He was trying to push buttons on the phone. Plan is still to do the shunt tomorrow but, instead of routing it to his stomach they will be routing it to his heart. They want to keep the stomach area open incase he requires a long term feeding tube in the stomach area. Continue to pray, share, and donate of possible as his journey is still unclear and he could be out of work for quite some time. Thank you

2/7/2025 CT in the morning, the shunt will be done Monday morning and then be out of ICU shortly afterward. They'll watch to see if they need to make adjustments to the shunt with a magnet on the outside. Simple procedure shouldn't be involved with many risks. Making progress each day. Thank you for everything

2/6/2025 Everything looked good on last CT. Preparing to do the shunt on Monday if all goes well.

2/4/2025 & 2/5/2025 Christon has been able to come off the CPAP and the oxygen. Making daily progress to get closer to getting a shunt to replace the temporary shunt. Looks like that should be next week. Eating ice again and it's one of his favorite things to do. Keep praying, sharing and donate of possible. Thank you

2/3/2025 Christon has made some major improvements! The neuro team gave instructions to the nurse to increase the amount of fluid being pulled off the brain early this morning. They plan to remove the temporary shunt for the aneurysm at the end of this week or early next week. Nothing is definite for this timeline. He did also have another routine scheduled CT this morning at 4 am. Plans to do another CT tonight for comparison. All vitals are good as well as his responses. They removed a pressure measurement tube and gave him some stitches. It quit measuring, but the drain that he still has is measuring just fine. They increased the drain tube to pull more fluid to see if he will respond even more than he has previously. Occupational therapy did come to see how well he could tolerate moving his arms and legs. So far they're making him bend his right arm and reach. His vitals stayed good allowing them to complete therapy. Speech therapy came in and he can have ice chips now when he is good and awake and sitting up in bed. Very thankful for all the improvements today has brought. We are blessed!

2/2/2025 we did a whole lot of hurrying up and waiting today. Not much change today. Treating for thrush.

2/1/2025 Got to see Christon today and help trim is mustache. They're still treating the neurostorming. Lasix for the fluid. They increased the amount of fluid they're pulling from the brain with the drain tube's. He will remain on antibiotics until the drain is removed. They're taking him tonight for a CT and a angiography. He has been struggling to keep his oxygen up throughout the day today. They did place a CPAP on him but, oxygen is still dropping. Please pray these show improvements and that nothing additional is needed at this time. Will update as soon as we know anything additional.

1/31/2025 Today marks 30 days since this whole nightmare began. Christon is one tough fighter. Each day he is met with challenges but, we have hope he will continue to fight his way to recovery. We will hold steady and will not back down for you. Everyone is rooting for you! We love you. Please continue to share, pray, donate. His path is uncertain but, we will still stand and fight with him each day!

1/30/2025 Today was your dad's birthday. He spent the day with you. The nurses said he looked 80 with his white beard. It's now mysteriously shaven. LOL!! You're still fighting and everyone is still praying for you to continue recovering.

1/29/2025 Christon is still fighting strong. Doctor's are pleased with everything so far today. We will continue to pray for healing. Thank you

1/28/2025 Christon was able to get the ventilator out completely today! No other significant changes really. Still praying for healing.

1/27/2025 Christon is still following commands and giving thumbs up. We we're able to video chat with him and he was blinking his eyes for responding and moving his head trying to give motions for yes and no. The ventilator has been switched to CPAP only. Oxygen is still being used to support his breathing. They're still working on finding a good spot for the sedation because he's pulling at stuff so they did turn it back up just a bit. His right eye pupil is not responding. It's not getting any worse but, the hope is that the right eye will start to become reactive again as his body reabsorbs the blood from the brain bleed. They showed images of the brain and how the ventricles are swollen and blood filled. The drain tube is catching several different colors because it's pulling spinal fluid, and blood from the brain bleed. When he lays still for a long time it gets clear. Then, when they reposition him, it's catching some of the other fluids. Will do another CT the 29th and hopefully this will show improvements. The machine to keep him cool was running at 7° yeaterday but, earlier today running at 63° and is currently running at 87 ° which is a huge improvement!! Keep them prayers coming. Our family thanks you for each and every comment, prayer, kind words, donation.

1/26/2025 Christon is experiencing something they call "Neurostorming" I've included the description of that as follows: When someone suffers from head trauma, they can experience neurostorming, a state characterized by an overactive sympathetic nervous system (SNS). The sympathetic nervous system (SNS) triggers the “fight or flight” reaction. When triggered, the body goes into a state of heightened attention, raising the rate at which it performs essential processes like heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature regulation.

What this is causing is his temp to raise rapidly, heart rate spikes, Blood pressure spikes as a response to the "Neurostorming". They're giving medication to help basically treating these symptoms as they arise. They're cooling him and also have a warming blanket on him to help with his shivering he's experiencing from the back and forth of the cooling and then being feverish. No brain drain tube changes. Lowering sedation by adjusting it because if they leave it on he's knocked out. If they take it off he's aggravated, so they're searching for a happy medium. Sodium was normal this morning and not as swollen today. They're still giving Lasix. He is still following commands by giving thumbs up along with still shooting people birds. So we know he's still in there. Giving him breathing treatments because of the pneumonia and fluid in the lungs. Today has been alot of hurry up and wait!! All of these things take time to heal and they're doing everything they can for him right now while the medication works. We have to stay strong and continue to pray his healing continues. Thank you for everything.

1/25/2025 Christon has had quite a challenging day but, so far has made promising improvements. Fever but, has since broke. Lowered oxygen from pneumonia but, they're giving him antibiotics, cough medication and they made some adjustments to the ventilator that has helped him with this burden. He is holding fluid but, they're giving him Lasix to get the fluid off. Lowered sodium. Hoping for even more improvements overnight. He's still a true fighter. Still no movement on the left side but, hopeful in time that will return. Your sister went to Homecoming tonight. I know you would've thought she was beautiful. Can't wait to share the pictures with you when you're better. Keep the prayers coming. Thank you. ❤️

1/24/2025 Christon had all the sedation turned off today. They're preparing to remove the vent if possible. He is moving his right side currently and responding on that same side. Hopeful for some movement on his left side soon. He is running a tempature but, praying that gets better soon. Please keep praying thank you

1/23/2025 Christon is following commands and still giving the thumbs up. They mentioned possibly trying to take the ventilator off tomorrow. Praying he continues to make steady progress. Thank you

1/22/2025 Christon is giving the thumbs up. Giving the bird to some. He was blinking his eyes in response to certain questions. He is still on ventilator but, taking some breaths by himself. Still praying for a positive outcome. Continue to pray, share, donate and follow his progress. Our family is so appreciative of the positive impact you've made.

1/21/2025 Update 1: The last few days Christon has been making steady progress. So much so that I didn't feel the need to make a new update daily. I'm coming now to ask for quick prayers. He is being rushed into the OR with a brain bleed. He was out for a outside appointment when he started to swell and sweat. Please pray

Update 2: What we know so far. So he had some trauma from the initial injury to one of the blood vessels on the left side of his brain. This is the opposite side of the brain but, the blood went over to the right side and was pooling. They drilled bur holes to relieve the pressure and they got the bleeding stopped but, he also has an aneurysm. The neurologist said this was a major setback. They don't know what damage from this will be. He's in a different operating room now and the vascular doctors have taken over. They're doing basically "heart cath type stuff" but, of his brain. They're trying to see if they can treat the aneurysm. They did warn us that he may not make it. They put a temporary shunt in for the aneurysm to keep it from completely rupturing. He's still in the operating room and when they know anything additional they will call us. So now we wait.

Update 3: Doctor just came out to provide us with an update. They were able to sacrifice the part of the brain where the aneurysm was at. Worst case scenario if them stopping the blood flow to that part of the brain it's possible he could experience weakness in his left leg. Nothing is guaranteed at this point in regards to new impairments. He's still in critical care. The aneurysm has been repaired. The next 5 to 7 days will be critical in getting him out of the worst of this. Please pray that his healing can continue since this is a major setback. Please share and donate as you can. Thank you

1/18/2025 Went to visit Christon today. He is walking so much better. Making so much progress each day. We are so proud of him. Tentative release date for rehabilitation is January 30th but, we are hoping he will be successful enough to be released before then. Thank you for continued prayers, donations and your support.

1/16/2025 Christon snuck out of bed last night after he turned the bed alarms off. He was found going to the bathroom by himself without his helmet on. Sneaky little nephew!! They added some additional alarms on his bed to ensure he stays in bed tonight. He made huge progress today. Will share video!! So proud of him and I hope his journey encourages someone else with a traumatic brain injury as well. The prayers are definitely working. Thank you for following his recovery, praying, the messages, and the monetary donations. Our family is greatful for everything.

1/15/2025 Christon is very adamant he wants his neck brace off. They're trying to bribe him with ice cream. Today he took a shower, brushed his teeth, wheeled himself around in wheelchair several times. Excited to see him making progress. Thank you to everyone for praying, sharing the gofund me, and your kinds words of encouragement.

1/14/2025 Christon is settled at the rehabilitation center tonight. He's very aggravated and keeps taking off his neck brace. He's throwing his glasses of water. Still shooting the bird to the nurses. Tomorrow he will start his journey there to recovery. Hoping for a quick and smooth process.

1/13/2025 Huge progress today!! All monitors were removed today. He is awaiting a transfer to a rehabilitation center to continuing his recovery. Two nights ago he got out of bed even with both hand restraints on. Alarms were going off and the nurses rushed in to find him bend over the bed. Last night same thing. Guess he's tired of being tied down. He's ready to get up and make a recovery. Continue to pray his journey stays strong. Prqy the physician's are able to keep him him on his way to a full recovery. Please share as he will need everyone's support during this time to focus on his recovery and not feel the burden to return to work too quickly to make a full recovery. Thank you for praying, sharing, donating and following his journey. ❤️

1/12/2025 You may get 2 updates today!! This was so amazing not to go ahead and share. Feeding tube is out! Walked to bathroom with assistance only to make sure he didn't fall. Christon was able to use the bathroom by himself without any assistance for that part. So excited to see what else the day has in store for his progress

1/11/2025 got to visit with Christon today. We let him sleep mostly because I know he has to be tired. Tomorrow he will be getting his feeding tube out. He ate 3 different times today. Mashed potatoes, mashed broccoli, ice cream, carrots, some kind of Salisbury thing mashed of course. Continue praying, sharing and following his journey. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to do any of these things. ❤️

1/10/2025 today Christon has eaten yogurt, mashed potatoes, jello, mashed broccoli and drank several glasses of water. Still praying for continued healing and progress. Thank you to everyone for following his journey ❤️

1/9/2025 words can't express the wave of emotions!! We are so extremely blessed to say that Christon got a step down room finally. He answered all except 1 question with the correct answers today. 1/4/2025 Results are back from the MRI and they show a stroke in the frontal lobe of his brain. This is not what we prayed for but, we will continue to pray and stay positive. The pneumonia is getting better. Thank you for every prayer, the support received from Hip Portland has been amazing. We are very appreciative of everything. ❤️

1/3/2025 Last night, the struggle was to keep his blood pressure down. Today was full of a whole lot of hold on, and wait. Follow-up CT scans appear to be normal. He is still following commands, but the left side is appearing less active than the right side of his body. MRI was performed to monitor for any bleeding on the brain. Still awaiting results of this MRI. Thank you to those that have taken the time to reach out, pray, donate. Our family is greatful for each and every one if them. Please share the post to reach others that may still want to pray or donate. ❤️

1/2/2025 now has pneumonia and they may have to put air support back on via trachea. They're giving antibiotics and we are hopeful they will work to prevent the need for the trachea. When asked to give a thumbs up he shot them a bird so I'm confident the Bubba I know is still very much present! Please continue to pray!

1/1/2025 ventilator came out today. No fever today. Continue praying because they're working. We will take every win no matter how small. ❤️

Last night, December 30th, my dear nephew, Christon, was in a traumatic car accident. He was traveling down a backroad and collided with two trees, causing irrevocable damage to his vehicle and himself. He was transported via Life Flight to Vanderbilt where he underwent brain surgery for multiple cranial fractures, blood clot, he has multiple facial fractures, broken ribs, and other minor injuries. He was placed on a ventilator upon transport and is still currently being assisted even though he is breathing on his own. He is still very sedated due to the extent of his injuries. He has a feeding tube at this time, as farther cranial and facial fractures need to be assessed. He currently has a fever that has not subsided and is still being kept in the trauma unit at Vanderbilt, pending further improvement post-op. The future is very undetermined at this time, and they have yet to give any definitive timeline of recovery, as they are focused on him surviving through each night at this point. His wife and family would appreciate any support at this time, whether it be in the form of donation or kind words of healing and prayers. Updates will be given as we receive them, and any support is greatly appreciated by the entire family. God bless and Thank you
